The Hugora Nebula is a giant interstellar cloud undergoing active star formation.

Characteristics[]

Hugora Nebula

The Hugora Nebula is almost 11 by 15-light years in dimension.

The nebula contains a number of Bok globules (dark, collapsing clouds of proto-stellar material). It also includes a funnel-like or tornado-like structure caused by a hot O-type star that emanates ultraviolet light, heating and ionizing gases on the surface of the nebula.

History[]

In 2153, Inkaaran Royal forces began to setup defensive positions and minefields in response to Xindi advances near their territory, while the Inkaaran First, Second and Fourth fleets were deployed to the nebula, in anticipation of the approaching Xindi fleet from the Penthara Mass Relay.

The Xindi intended to move and occupy the Inkaarans, still remembering the Second Xindi-Inkaaran Conflict of the 2030s, however upon securing the mass Relays of Beloti-system and the Hugora Nebula were secured by the Xindi, attempts in early-May 2153 to cross into the Inkaara system were rebuffed by a massive buildup by the Inkaara Royal Fleet. It is made clear by the Inkaaran royal family that the Xindi were not to approach the Mass Relay to the Inkaara-system. The Xindi Council votes not to antagonize the Inkaara for the time being and instead move on to securing the last of the three Relays in the Hugora Nebula.

In October 2155 was the site of the Casra Trajedy. The 1st Coalition Fleet launched an attack to capture the Xindi-Primate habitate of Casra in the nebula. However after destroying the settlement's protection force and boarding troops, the Xindi-Reptilians detonate an anti-matter bomb to keep the habitate out of Coalition hands. The act kills the entire 12-million population of Casra destroying, eight nearby Coalition warships and was painted by the Xindi-Reptilians as a Coalition war crime to the rest of the Xindus Cooperative. However members of the upper Xindi-Primate government quickly realized it was a piece of propaganda when experts confirm it that it was a controlled overload of a anti-matter bomb, a technology the Coalition did not use, in an area of the station that was not under Coalition control, that caused the destruction. Grumblings began on many Xindi worlds against the Reptilians, eventually leading to the Xindi Civil War.
